Strategic Global Supply Chain Location

The intermodal capabilities and convergence of air, water, rail, and highway establish the M3 region as a critical point in the global supply chain. Importers, exporters and distributors of time-sensitive products profit from the advanced logistics capabilities that have been developed in this strategic location.

AIR

Our close proximity to the Memphis International Airport, the FedEx world hub and a UPS hub allows for 11:00 P.M. drop off for overnight freight. Memphis International is the world’s top cargo airport. It is a Northwest Airlines hub and has 221 daily scheduled flights with connections to Tokyo.

The Tunica Airport with a 8,500 ft. runway expandable to 10,000 ft can accommodate large commercial aircraft. The Panola County Airport has a 5,000 ft. runway. The Metro Park Airport located in DeSotoCounty has a 6,000 ft. runway and is the second busiest airport in Mississippi. All of these airports can accommodate corporate and charter flights.

HIGHWAYS

Four interstate highways intersect in the region including two of the nation’s newest: I-69 and I-22. This transportation network ensures easy access to U.S. and international markets. Over 75% of U.S. markets can be reached within one day by ground transportation. FedEx Ground recently selected Northwest Mississippi for its hub. More than 300 major truck lines are located in the area – so many that the Memphis area has long been known as America’s Distribution Center.

RAIL

All five Class 1 National rail lines serve the region allowing single system shipments coast to coast including Mexico and Canada. The railroads have invested in high-capacity state-of-the-art intermodal facilities which support international shipping and flexible shipping solutions.

WATER

The Port of Memphis is the 4th largest port on an inland waterway in the United States and offers state-of-the-art multimodal transportation opportunities. There are additional cargo handling facilities along the Mississippi River including the Port of Lake Cormorant in DeSotoCounty.
